With the Mid Summer Classic behind us it is time that we try to go after a few soon to be studs.
I am going to throw out some up and comers who might get going in time to carry you into the playoffs and beyond.
Let's start with my HOT pick ADAM LIND of the Blue Jays. Now starting he has been one of the reasons that the bats have been firing up out there in Toronto. Other Hot hitters include Cody Ross in Florida, Alexi Casilla in Minnesota who gets really hot and a little cold at times, Mike Aviles of the Royals who is available in some leagues and Adam LaRoche in Pittsburgh. All have been hitting well at times and worth taking a chance on. Other present guys hitting well are Fernando Tatis of the red hot Mets, Scott Hairston of the Padres and Andre Ethier of the Dodgers. Ben Francisco has been consistantly at the top of the free agent board.
As for pitchers, this is always tough unless you stream. The pitcher you should really go get if he is still there is GLEN PERKINS. He is 7-2 for the Twins with an ERA of 3.84 and is 4-0 in his last 5 starts. Jamie Moyer of the Phillies is 9-6 with an ERA of 3.90. He is sporting a 2 game winning streak. Another flyer is Florida's Chris Volstad who is 2-0 since being called up and has an ERA of 0.84 with one of those starts being 1 out away from being a complete game. Sean Marshall is a gamble as he is all over the rotation for the Cubbies, but is getting some fantasy points.
